Teeth whitening can be done using 2 methods:
- Laser teeth whitening – is done in 1 visit and is done in a dental engine (Chair)
- Chemical teeth whitening – needs from 5 to 10 days, and includes procedures done at home.
Laser teeth whitening is done in 1 visit. Special gel is placed on teeth which whitens the teeth by being activated by laser light. It does not damage enamel and is thus effective for whitening dark gray and dark brown teeth.
Chemical teeth whitening is done with gel chosen by the doctor and individually created using a gum shield. The dentist will determine the percentage of the whitening agent as well as the duration and frequency of its usage. On average this method of whitening takes from 5 to 10 days. The procedure may cause the increase of teeth sensitivity, which can be regulated with sensitivity decreasing medicine prescribed by the dentist.
